Upcoming Pro Bono Events
by Aleed Rivera

Thanks to all of the volunteers who participated in the uncontested divorce clinic and estate planning clinic in May 2017.  We have many volunteer opportunities available for the Fall of 2017 for attorneys, paralegals and law students.  If you would like to get involved in the Tarrant County community and would like to make a difference in the legal profession, please join us!

Contact the Tarrant County Bar Association and ask for Aleed Rivera, Interim Pro Bono Programs Director for more information about volunteering.

Uncontested Divorce

TVAS is currently taking applications for its uncontested divorce clinic scheduled for September 2017.

To be eligible for pro bono (free) representation there are certain requirements, including:
     1.  Income Eligibility Requirements;
     2.  Volunteer attorneys always represent the Petitioner;
     3.  The divorce is not already filed; and
      3. Case needs to be eligible to be filed in Tarrant County, among others requirements.

To complete an application, call (817) 546-4450 and leave a detailed message. A TVAS volunteer will follow up and determine your eligibility.

Please note that TVAS does not have staff attorneys, and relies solely on volunteer attorneys to provide pro bono assistance. There are no walk-in appointments available for the legal clinics.  All participants must be financially eligible and receive prior approval before receiving pro bono assistance.
